July 25th of 2009 was an important historical turning point in the political arena in the Kurdistan Region, due to the formation of the first mass opposition movement under the name of (Gorran Movement).  The principles of democracy were introduced.

Since its inception, the Gorran Movement has introduced a new model of organizational and political work. One of the points that distinguished Gorran's model from other parties was its organizational structure and decision-making issues  During its lifetime, all decisions of this movement have been made unanimously or collectively.

“We will not repeat the experience of the Stalinist parties, we will not create a pyramid party and we do not intend to imitate the traditional party They have made party politics their source in Kurdistan  Life is for the salaried and they have made it a tool to force people to join them. Gone are the days when you try to build a political party in the form of an army with headquarters in every street To control society and thereby create an army of unemployed wage earners in your headquarters  We will not repeat that experience.”
