The prime minister and the US president's envoy insist on confronting terrorism and maintaining Iraq's stability.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani met with Brett McGork, the White House coordinator for Middle East and North African affairs, and the US president's envoy.

 

The meeting discussed relations between Iraq and the United States of America and ways of strengthening and developing at various levels and fields in a way that serves the interests of the Iraqi people and the United States.

For his part, the prime minister stressed the government's direction to open the horizon for cooperation with friendly countries to guarantee the interests of the Iraqi people.

He also reaffirmed the security forces' ability to confront terrorism and maintain the stability embodied by sacrifices on Iraqi soil.

 

McGork, for his part, reaffirmed his country's support for the success of the current government, and the continued us-led consultation with Iraqi forces in the fight against ISIS, as well as the US administration's involvement in the Iraqi government's strategic agreements and reforms in the field of energy and economic infrastructure and facing climate change.
