The head of the Iraqi parliament's finance committee wants to find a legal way to force the executive government to send the budget bill to parliament.

"At the moment, they are only working to find a way for the current Iraqi government to prepare a budget bill and send it to parliament," said Mohammed Anuz, head of the Iraqi parliament's finance committee.

He also pointed out that Iraq's political deadlock has stopped the approval of the budget bill, disrupted projects, and the economic situation in the country and its citizens is deteriorating.

"In the previous round of parliament, 120 laws have not been set to be worked on, which have an impact on the country's economy," said Anuz.

Last year, the government was unable to send the 2022 budget bill to parliament, and the Iraqi government is now working and cannot prepare and send it to parliament according to the constitution.
